Twam

Spam sent via Twitter or other microblogging sites

Twam is spam sent via microblogging sites such as Twitter.

Because microblogging messages are usually only read by a blogger's followers and by those referred to in the message, 'twammers' may attempt to gain a large number of followers by using an attractive name and/or photograph. They also respond to individual users, usually when these have blogged about something that may be relevant to the spamvertised product. For instance, someone blogging a message containing the word 'weight' may receive weight-loss 'twam'.
