Spamvertising

Advertising a product via spam

Spamvertising' is a term given to the practice of advertising goods or services using mass email.

Common subjects of spamvertising include reproduction watches and jewellery, online pharmaceutical companies (allowing access to pharmaceuticals without the necessary prescriptions) and companies offering online academic qualifications. Other goods are also occasionally promoted via spamvertising, particularly firms based in developing countries who may see the medium as a way of reaching a wider audience at low cost. Due to the lack of traceability and legal accountability and the risk of malware, it is generally considered inadvisable to purchase any product or service promoted via spam.
