Intended virus

Failed attempt at creating a virus

Intended viruses are instances where a virus writer has attempted to create a virus but the virus does not work at all, or does not work in the way the creator hoped.

Most intended viruses simply fail to infect files, corrupting them or misinfecting them in some way. Some anti-virus products detect 'intended' viruses to protect users from any potential danger they may carry.
