Greyware

Software with potential for malicious use, but some legitimate use

Greyware is software which, while not definitely malicious, has a suspicious or potentially unwanted aspect to it. The term is often used as a companion to malware, covering various forms of items which some users may wish their security software to detect and remove.

Adware, spyware, joke software and possible 'hacker tools' all fall within the area covered by greyware.
