Downloader

Trojan that downloads other files

Downloaders are small trojan files programmed to download and execute other files, usually more complex trojans, spyware or adware programs.

Downloaders can be very small and simple, easy to produce and thus difficult for anti-malware software to provide full detection for. The code they download, although it will likely always come from the same location, can also be adjusted at the server side to reduce the chances of it being detected.
