M&S joins high-street AV retail crowd
Upmarket store to match rivals in security software selling.
Leading UK retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) has joined fellow high-street chain Woolworths
and supermarket leviathan Tesco in selling a range of computer software, including a security suite and anti-virus products.
M&S specialises in clothing and upmarket food retailing, with many of its high-street department stores also
providing homeware, and has over 500 stores in the UK and a presence in some other 30 countries. Having moved into
online sales in recent years, the firm has now expanded its output to include a selection of software which includes
an office suite, greetings cards design and driver training software alongside the security products.
The range is provided and supported by Formjet Innovations, the same firm behind
Woolworths' and Tesco's
similar moves into the software market last year, and the security products will once more be based on technology from
Panda Security.
The M&S software site, with details of the range of products, is
