String of vulnerabilities found in ServerProtect

Several minor holes patched in Trend Micro corporate product.

A series of security issues have been reported in Trend Micro's ServerProtect server-level product, which could allow system compromise from within the local network but are not thought to expose servers to remote attack.

Seven separate vulnerabilities, mostly boundary errors which could possibly be exploited by buffer-overflow attacks, were found in several parts of the server product, and reported to Trend in mid-June, mostly via iDefense. The flaws are known to affect Windows versions of the software, but other platforms may also be vulnerable. All are now covered by patches from Trend, which should be automatically deployed to most customers, but users are advised to ensure they are running the latest updates.

Details of the vulnerabilities can be found at iDefense here and here, with a summary from Secunia (labelled 'Moderately Critical') here. Trend's report on the issue, with links to the necessary patches, is here.
