CEO leaves, president fired over financial problems.

Investigations into irregularities in McAfee's finances have led to the resignation of the company CEO and board chairman George Samenuk, and the sacking of president Kevin Weiss.

The changes at the top come after a lengthy investigation by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) into stock options anomalies in the company's finances. McAfee will face having all its financial results for the past ten years recalculated.

Charles Robel has been given the role of chairman at McAfee, while a temporary CEO and president has been installed until a permanent replacement can be selected. The SEC investigation is also looking into the finances of numerous other companies.
