Zero bids received in online auction of website
Industry hype-fighting website VMyths went up for auction on eBay this month, but no bids were received.
For ten years VMyths has prided itself on being the 'voice of reason' in the AV industry, debunking virus-related myths perpetuated by the media and slamming the hype generated by many anti-virus firms. VMyths owner Eric Robicheaud put the site up for sale along with the rights to an exclusive contract with editor Rob Rosenberger, whose forthright prose and acerbic wit have set the tone of the website, entertaining, informing and rattling cages in almost equal measures.
Giving his reasons for selling the site, Robicheaud stated: 'The site is owned by an investor not directly involved in the industry and is looking to sell the site to either another investor or to a someone directly involved in the industry that could benefit from the editorial exposure from being associated with the site.'
The starting price for the site was set at $200,000, but no bids were received during the week-long auction period which ended yesterday.
