Viruses - Some Good
Just occasionally, a virus infection can have some positive effects...
Much like biological viruses, it turns out that infections by computer viruses can lead to increased measures - in this case in a country's laws for dealing with them.

The Philippines' e-commerce law is an example of this - on Monday the Philippines announced it had cracked a phone hacking group, and charged them under this law, which was put in place after the spread of the 'Love Bug' worm in 2000.
We can only hope other countries put in place tighter laws governing computer crime, rather than turning a blind eye, and/or rewarding those who release them.
