There are two games circulating by email, named ELFBOWL.EXE and FROGAPULT.EXE.
VB has seen numerous copies of both programs, and each has been a harmless Christmas game - with no viral content. However, this is no guarantee of the 'cleanliness' of the files per se. Should one of these be executed on an infected machine prior to being redistributed via email, then it is perfectly feasible for the 'originally harmless' games/jokes to become infected and viral.
Therefore, both games should be treated as potentially infected, and neither should be executed. Simply delete the email they arrive in.

To all

If you have received either of these games: FROGAPULT.EXE or ELFBOWL.EXE
(frog game) & (elf bowling game), please can you delete them completely
out of your system as they both have a delayed virus attached to them
that will be activated on Christmas Day and will wipe out your system.

VB reminds users: if you receive a virus warning message, do not forward the message to all your friends/colleagues, as it may suggest in the text. If you have verified that the message is a hoax, simply delete it. If you are unsure, forward the message to your IT administrator. Failing that, forward it to hoax@virusbtn.com. It is possible that you may receive a hoax email with a file attachment. Since it is possible that these attachments could be infected VB advises such files to be be treated with the same caution as any other unexpected message attachment and urges users not to open them.
